This fused dichroic glass pendant has been handcrafted with time and attention. It measures 33mm long (from the top of the bail) and 21mm wide.
The process of making these patchwork pendants begins with cutting and arranging small strips of dichroic glass in a variety of colours. Once I’m happy with the layout, I cap the strips with a layer of clear glass and then fuse the layers together in the kiln. This first firing produces a large slab of patchwork glass which I then cut into smaller pieces. I shape each piece by hand on a grinder with a rotating diamond drill bit in order to remove sharp edges and create the finished shape. A second firing in the kiln polishes the glass to a high shine and creates a unique cabochon. A silver plated heart-shaped Aanraku bail and an 18″ sterling silver trace chain are the finishing touches. The finished fused dichroic glass pendant is ready to gift or just to keep for yourself.
Presented in a dainty gift box (made of recycled and recyclable cardboard).
All measurements are as accurate as possible but are still approximate.
